Here's how the email list works:

1. You visit the ColoCougs list management web page and enter your email address and a password. Select the options you want to use. (Don't worry too much about specifics because you can go back and fine-tune your options anytime.)
2. You will be added to the list instantly and will receive an email confirming your addition.
3. Once you are a member, you can communicate with all other Cougs on the list by sending a message to ColoCougs@lists.wsu.edu. All 150+ members will receive your message. You can only send emails from the address you have registered with the list; if you want to be able to send and receive emails from additional addresses, you can register each address separately.
4. You will also receive every message sent to the list. If this generates too much email for you, just go back to the web page and change your subscription to the DIGEST version, which normally sends you only one email per day containing all messages sent that day.
5. General list rules are based in common sense:
6. This is a WSU Alumni list. It is not for discussion of partisan or political topics (although legislative matters sometimes affect the University or Colorado Cougars and therefore become legitimate topics for discussion or comment), or for topics which the List-Master finds inappropriate, tasteless or offensive. The List-Master makes these decisions and has final authority.
7. List-members are asked to be tasteful in their comments, to use language which other members will find appropriate, and to conduct themselves in conversational and behavioral terms appropriate for mixed audiences.
8. Failure to follow these rules can result in any member being deleted from the list without prior warning, although normally a warning will be given off-list.
